Pamela Rabe in 'Heartbreak House'
Written during World War I, inspects what Shaw thought as the abhorrent self-absorption and folly of middle-class Europe. Set during a house party at the eccentric household of Captain Shotover and his daughter Hesione, the play presents a world of moral and spiritual blight.
